Doctor of Law in Criminal Law, Criminology, Criminal Justice from Newcastle University (United Kingdom)

Dr Foteini Kyriakopoulou-Kollia was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from which she graduated in 2005 with the mark “Very Good”.

In 2008, she obtained her first Master Degree (LLM) from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University (New York, USA) with focus in Criminal Law. In 2009, she completed her second Master Degree (LLM) in Criminal Law in the same university. During her studies for her second Master Degree, she collaborated with the non-profit organisation of HIAS in New York in Immigration Law cases. From 2009 to 2011, she studied at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (New York, USA), from which she obtained her third Master Degree (MA) in Criminal Justice with specialisation in Criminology.

From 2011 to 2018, she lived in the United Kingdom, where she completed her PhD at Newcastle University and specialised on Domestic Violence, Criminal Law, Criminology, and Criminal Justice. During her PhD studies, she obtained the Diploma of the Research Training Programme and the Diploma of Teaching in Higher Education from Newcastle University. She taught at the Research Training Programme from 2012 to 2016. During her stay in the United Kingdom, she was actively involved in the Academic field with her conference presentations, the organisation of conferences, and her participation in the Editorial Team of the legal journal “North East Law Review” of Newcastle University.

Since September 2018, she collaborates with the law firm Lawhelp, in which she is involved with cases of Criminal Law, Civil Law, and Commercial Law. She speaks fluently English, Italian, French, and German.
